Synopsis

UME [産め] Or (The Will To Fly Blind) tells the story of Ume, a 17-year-old Japanese American girl growing up in New York City. We follow her experience as she deals with an unexpected pregnancy in the days leading up to her abortion. Eventually and unexpectedly, she finds solace in the company of her single dad - a goofy first-generation immigrant.
